October 2025 Newsletter Posted on 09-23-2025

Hello students and parents! Fall season is here. Having a consistent schedule during the week is important to promote success, shape habits, and practice self-discipline especially during the school year! Students should be taking time each week to practice at home, inspect their goals and review the progress they have made. A routine to support learning, retention, and performance is essential for all.

Several of your classmates will be traveling to Nebraska for our fall regional tournament - with both Sonya and Aubree testing for black belt ranks on Friday night! Be sure to wish them good skill and ask about their experience when we are all back!

The following are some important dates to remember. Each announcement is tagged with a program to help our members know which items are most important to them. Don't forget to check our Class Schedule as well as in the school for class plans, announcements, and schedules.

Encourage your student(s) to know dates important to them so they are able to set goals appropriate to their progress. Seasonal curriculum for Tang Soo Do including dates for important classes are posted on the whiteboard by the front desk as well!

  • Oct #kigong Chisholm classes with Mrs. Wickstrom will continue via Zoom Tuesdays and Saturdays at 9:00am. Contact her for the Zoom invite.
  • Oct #kigong Palo classes with Mr. Wilkes will continue at the Loon Lake Community Center on Thursdays at 10:00am. Contact him for more information.
  • Oct #tangsoo Students that are interested in sparring gear will be able to get in on an order this month! Students that are orange belt or higher or have been with us for more than 6 months should have their own gear! The loaner gear we have at the school has been getting in rough shape because so many students have been relying on it rather than getting their own, and the supply has been shrinking due to unsafe wear. See Mr. K or a black belt to help with sizing, color, and style.
  • Sep 29 #tangsoo #haidong Intent to Test opens. If you are a color belt that is testing for another color belt rank, you must submit the form through the spark app in order to be considered for rank testing.
  • Oct 15 #tangsoo Sparring day - bring your gear! Those that are flying to the event should bring anything they don't want to take on the plane to Mr. K this day. Sparring day classes are informal - come and go as you need for class - don't forget to sign in!
