The following are some important items and dates to remember. Each announcement is tagged with a program to help our members know which items are most important to them.
Welcome to Resurgence in the year 2022! This is our fifth year in Virginia; our 33rd anniversary of serving the Iron Range is June 1! We continue to provide a safe environment for training and family bonding for all. We wish everyone health and prosperity in the new year.
- WINTER: #tangsoo #haidong Winter season is happening now!
- Jan #kigong Chisholm classes with Mrs. Wickstrom will continue on ZOOM only Tuesdays and Saturdays at 9:00am. The focus is Ki Cho Ki Gong.
- Jan #tigers Winter season for Tiny Tigers is happening now!
- Jan 15 #tangsoo #haidong #tigers We've missed a year of our school tournament last year due to covid. We are bringing it back this year with Icicle Wars! Registration is now closed. Information on the event can be found on the Icicle Wars event on our site.
- Feb 2 #tangsoo #haidong Intent to Test submissions are due by 8:00pm on Wednesday. Students in Tang Soo Do or Haidong Gumdo wishing to test for their next color belt rank must submit a form. If you are unsure about testing, please contact your instructor. The form submission page also includes information about the testing procedure for each program.
- Feb 14 #tangsoo Sparring day for belt testing. ALL students will be sparring on this Monday. Those testing for color belt ranks the following week will have this portion used in their scoring.
- Feb 16 #tangsoo Written test day! ALL students will take a written test based on their rank. White, Orange, and Green belts can use a printed manual for reference, Brown belt and above get no reference! Be sure to read and study up - results for those testing for color belt ranks the following week will have these scores recorded. As people finish the written test, you will be able to ask questions of the instructors for review, and we may do some group activities depending on time.
- Feb 21, 23 #tangsoo Color belt testing is happening during the week. Scoring on all drills, forms, and other material.
- Feb 23 #haidong Color belt testing for our sword program will be held on this Wednesday. Be sure to get your Intent to Test form submitted if you wish to test for your next rank.
- Apr 29 #tangsoo The WTSDA Region 3 Spring Tournament in Coon Rapids, MN is posted on the Region 3 website! Be sure to check there for information. Additional info will be in our TSD BAND.
- May #haidong Midwest Haidong Gumdo will have a tournament happening soon! Information will be announced on the Midwest Haidong Gumdo website as soon as it is availalbe.
Students and parents: Don't forget to get into the appropriate BAND for the program(s) you are part of. This is our preferred way to stay in touch with instructors, get important announcements, and even share pictures and videos from class and events. There are often posts found in BAND that are not anywhere else in our communications (class sign-ups, additional class information). It is also where you will learn when classes have been canceled! If you have problems getting into Band, talk to an instructor.
