In 2010, I enrolled my son, Quin, in classes at Range Martial Arts in Chisholm, Minnesota, when he was four in a half years old. One year later, his father, Mr. Scot Bennett, joined him and signed up for the classes. For the next three years, I was asked daily by both to join ranks with them. Finally, in 2014 I signed up for my first class and have been training with my family ever since! Four years later, I received my 1st-degree black belt, and a year after that, I received my instructor certification. In September 2022, I passed my 2nd-degree test and received my level 2 certification.
I currently lead the Tiny Tiger program at our school for ages 4-6. I believe that starting martial arts as a child not only builds physical strength and coordination, but it instills respect, obedience, and self-control. I also work as a Paraprofessional with the Chisholm Public Schools and teach a martial arts Community Ed program.
I believe that doing martial arts as a family activity is the best way to go! It truly is for everyone! Training with my family has brought us all closer together. We have made wonderful memories and continue to do so. Martial arts was something I never thought of doing, but now I practice every day of my life and continue to train with my family.
